The Midwife will be responsible for: - Assume management responsibility of a caseload of obstetrical and gynecological patients selected.
- Provides prenatal care to patients which includes physical assessment, patient education, nursing care and management of problems in accordance with approved nurse midwifery guidelines.
- Collaborates with the health care team in planning and implementing care for obstetrical and gynecological patients.
- The individual in this position must demonstrate appropriate knowledge of the principals of growth and development with newborn, adolescent and adult patient population.
- Provides patient care in Antepartum and deliveries.
Qualifications To qualify you must have: - Education: Graduate of an approved program of Midwifery. Masters Degree required. Doctorate Degree preferred.
- Experience: Experience working in health centers and with diverse populations required. 3 years Midwifery experience preferred.
- Licensure: Authorization to practice as registered nurse in Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Current certification by American Midwifery Certification Board.
- Authorization to practice in the expanded role in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Registration to issue controlled substances with U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
- Registration to issue controlled substances with Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Other: Membership in professional organizations is recommended and certification in a specialty area is encouraged.
- Weekend Rotation per MNA Contract.
