Job Summary
The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry seeks a Research Assistant to join the laboratory of Dr. Houfu Guo. The lab uses protein biochemistry, cell and mouse models to understand how collagen modifying enzymes influence matrix homeostasis and signaling in biology and diseases, such as cancer and fibrosis.
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated individual with good interpersonal skills and a strong desire to learn. Daily tasks include preparing solutions, washing glassware, performing PCR, protein and DNA gel electrophoresis, western blotting, expressing and purifying proteins, organizing lab inventories. Candidates with a B.A. or B.S. preferred.
