Job Summary

The School of Sciences in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at Clayton State University is seeking applicants for a Lecturer of Biology position.The position is a 10-month (renewable), non-tenure appointment that reports to the Director of the School of Sciences.The successful candidate will be expected to begin on August 1, 2024.Salary will be commensurate with experience and competitive with comparable programs.In compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, proof of authorization to work in the U.S. will be required at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

·Teach the Human Anatomy and Physiology courses and labs and other non-majors courses as needed.

·Participate in service to Department, School, University and community.

·Serve as a career mentor for Biology and pre-health students.

Required Qualifications
  • ·A doctoral or masters degree (ABD candidates will be considered) in biology or related field

  • ·Ability to teach Human Anatomy and Physiology courses and the associated labs for allied health students

  • ·Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • ·Evidence of successful college teaching experience.

  • ·Evidence of successful online course teaching, development, implementation, and innovation.

  • ·Ability and desire to teach primarily Human Anatomy and Physiology courses and the associated labs for allied health students.

  • ·Ability and desire to other lower-level non-majors courses and labs as needed.

  • ·Willingness to participate in innovative, evidence-based teaching practices.

  • ·A team-player with a commitment to working in a department that prioritizes collaboration.
