Join our team at AllSTEM Connections, where we are dedicated to excellence. We are seeking a skilled Boiler Operator to oversee and maintain our plant utilities, including boilers, cooling towers, and compressed air systems. This role is crucial for ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and environmental stewardship. Located in Fostoria, OH
Job Qualifications:
• High pressure or above Boiler License from Ohio
Able to work any shift - all 3 rotating shifts
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or additional education is advantageous
• 1 – 3 years of experience in boiler operations or maintenance preferred
• Basic math skills and reading comprehension
• Ability to read and follow process instructions
• Self-starter with strong prioritization skills
Duties And Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with workplace health & safety requirements, policies/procedures, and workplace rules
• Take ownership of assigned systems and plant areas
• Safely start up and shut down boilers, cooling towers, and air compressors
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems, such as boilers, pumps, valves, and controls
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop solutions and optimize systems
• Conduct water sampling, test water chemistry, and adjust chemical dosages for water treatment
• Monitor daily operations, maintain accurate records via logs or digital databases
• Operate water treatment equipment including softeners and membrane filters
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and equipment lockout/tagout (LOTO)
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Read and understand process documentation, SOPs, and technical instructions
• Conduct daily inspections of equipment and surroundings
• Report safety incidents and equipment issues promptly
• Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights
• Complete housekeeping tasks as required
• Perform forklift operations (experience beneficial, not required)
Employee Requirements:
• Ability to perform essential physical tasks as required
• Capable of reading letters and numbers with good color perception
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds chest-high
• Standing for 12-hour shifts and navigating stairs
